Small Treasures: Gena Healthy Hoof Protein Treatment

For a while I had acrylic nails and to be honest I miss them more than I thought I would. But what I missed more were my natural nails being healthy and strong, as the aftermath of having acrylic nails was not pretty. Luckily I had Gena Healthy Hoof Protein Treatment stored in the cupboard and it came in handy, to say the least.

Healthy Hoof is "the original equestrian formula used by horse trainers" and is an intensive protein treatment used to strengthen and nourish nails.

I would massage Healthy Hoof into my nails every morning and night, and sometimes during the day if I got a spare moment. To get the best result it's better to apply it as much as possible. Within a couple of weeks I started noticing a difference in my nails. They weren't as weak, didnt break as much and even visually they looked nicer and healthier. It's been a couple of months since I started applying Healthy Hoof and I don't do it as much as I used to simply because I don't need to. I've seen a drastic change in my nails and I'm so grateful to have my real nails back to how they were before I started getting acrylic nails. Even if your nails aren't in trouble, using Healthy Hoof even once a week ensures that your nails will stay nourished and strong, as even nail polish and Shellac can weaken the nail.

Sadly, Healthy Hoof isn't very easy to find a lot of the time. I found mine in a chemist but I have also seen it in some beauty stores or department stores. Another option is to search online on websites such as Amazon or Ebay as they seem to always have it.
